This page provides an overview of projects and other assignments I have completed while attending the University of Utah. With my emphasis being in community recreation, much of my coursework has been a general knowledge of recreation. My education also included a more focused understanding of programming and meeting the needs of a specific group of people in a community such as youth or older adults. On other pages you will find more sample work specifically showcasing my computer skills and my what I have accomplished with my internships.
Examples of my coursework
This video is a management philosophy I created. This is a personal philosophy that I use when working with and leading other people. I have added this to my coursework not only to show what I can create but to clearly and creatively illustrate my views on how I personally like to lead. I feel that this leadership style best works with my personality and is how I plan to lead when working with others in a professional setting.

This is an uploaded assignment of an evaluation and program plan I have done about a local agency involved with positive youth development. I evaluated the LIttle Gym youth program using the American Camp Association's program evaluation. After I conducted this evaluation I then created a fictitious program that fulfilled missing developmental skills for the agency. I have added this program design to my portfolio to demonstrate what I can contribute to a program. After completing this program I can better understand all the aspects that go into program planning and what is helpful to program for in terms of positive youth development.

This is a Power Point presentation that I created for a class assignment in my trends and sport management class. I then went on to do the same presentation in the Utah Recreation and Parks Association annual 2015 conference. The presentation highlights the benefits of older adults getting involved with figure skating. I included this presentation in my portfolio because I feel that it is an important subject to keep exploring and that we should always encourage older adults to stay active and involved with recreation. This presentation gave me the chance to work on my public speaking skills and present an important topic at the URPA annual conference.
