This blog is about how to use Photoshop to create different texts. I will go through how I made each text pictured below not only to demonstrate my ability in Photoshop but to help other get ideas on how they can create different texts as well. All the changes I made to the text were added to help make the text standout on my portfolio and grab the viewers attention. Different layers were added in Photoshop to the texts to added different affects to the text.
For this text I wanted to create an email button for my viewers of my eportfolio to contact me easily. I have chosen a darker red background underneath a white text to make the text stand out better. The text has a white glow because I added an inner shadow as well as a outer glow to to make the text stand out to the view. So the text does not seem too flat, I also added a pattern overlay to the text.
With this text I wanted to try and make this text standout and look sharp while catching the eye of the viewer. I also wanted to create a look that would keep the viewer interested. For this text I used a serif fount with a gradient overlay. The gradient overlay is in a copper color so the color switched from copper brown to white to give it contrast. I also added an inner shadow to make the text pop more.
With this text I wanted to create a text that will evoke the feelings of Linkedin so the viewers recognize the text. Instead of coping the same text of the Linkedin logo I created a similar idea of the logo but with certain customization to make it stand out on my portfolio. For this text I picked a serif fount similar to Linkedin's and I added a bevel and emboss texture. I also added a satin and stoke layer in Photoshop to make the text pop.
This is just a start to what I have done in Photoshop. To see more of my work in Photoshop see my additional page on Photoshop images I have edited or created. I would also love to hear your thoughts on this post so feel free to leave me a comment or see my contact page to send me any feedback.
